On July 16, 1980 the Screen Actor's Guild & American Federation of Television and Radio Artists announced a July 20th strike. They requested a 12% increase on the gross from home video markets (i.e. pay-TV, cable-TV, videocassettes, & video discs) and a 40% across the board wage increase. The strike lasted for three months. The strike interrupted the production of Season 2 of Buck Rogers.
